Maple-Orange Chocolate Tart

Ingredients: For the Crust:

  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
  • ¼ cup swerve granulated
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the filling:

  • 1 (10 ounce) bag Bake Believe® Chocolate Flavored Melting Wafers
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 2 eggs

 Instructions: For the crust

  1. Stir together almond flour, chopped pecans and swerve in a bowl. Add egg and melted butter and continue stirring until fully combined and moistened. Press mixture in the bottom and up the sides of a 10-inch tart pan. Transfer to freezer and chill while preparing filling.

For the filling

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Place melting wafers in a large bowl. Add maple syrup, grated orange peel and cinnamon.
  2. Heat heavy cream in a small saucepan, over low heat until it reaches a gentle boil. Remove from heat and pour hot cream over melting wafers. Let the mixture stand for 30 seconds, then stir continuously until the mixture is fully combined and smooth. Add eggs and whisk to incorporate.
  3. Pour filling into chilled tart shell and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until set. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  4. Remove from tart pan and garnish with orange slices. Store in refrigerator loosely covered.
